The AMERICAN
BAR ASSOCIATION (ABA),
with more than 400,000 members, is the largest voluntary professional association
in the world. The ABA provides law school accreditation, continuing legal
education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges
in their work, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public.
The COUNCIL
ON LEGAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY (CLEO)
was founded in 1968 as a non-profit project of the American Bar Association
Fund for Justice and Education to expand opportunities for minorities and
low-income students to attend law school and become members of the legal
profession by providing pre-law recruitment, counseling, placement assistance
and training.
The NATIONAL
ASSOCIATION FOR LAW PLACEMENT (NALP)
has the ambitious mission to exercise "Preeminent leadership and expertise
in legal career planning, recruitment and hiring, employment, and professional
development worldwide." There website has some information for pre-law
students.

information for prospective law students about LSAT preparation, sample
tests, preparation material available for purchase, LSDAS registration,
Law School Forums, school rankings and other important details.

It offers 2003 law school rankings, tips to master the LSAT, advice for

COMPANION provides information on several topics relevant to
pre-law students.

has some very useful pre-law links.
PRELAWINSIDER
is published by Crittenden Magazines and is distributed four times a year
through pre-law advisors at more than 330 universities nationwide. Checking
their home page on January 24, 2006, we saw articles on How will you afford
law school and Who's got the best law library and why you should care. Crittenden
Magazines also publish National Jurist, a magazine for law students. The
National Jurist was launched in 1991, and is distributed at 130 law schools.
